I help employers deal with employee
problems. I also counsel them on their rights and how
best to assert them in the workplace. I advise on policy
development and help employers understand their obligations
under various contracts and employment laws.
When claims are made, I defend employers
in lawsuits filed by employees or unions. Such cases
usually involve claims of employment discrimination,
but may involve other claims as well. I represent employers
in arbitrations alleging violations of labor contracts.
I handle such labor-management issues as unfair labor
practices, collective bargaining negotiations, and
organizing campaigns.
For some clients I serve as their
contact with our firm and help them find the right
attorney to deal with other types of legal problems.
This occasionally includes linking them with other
Meritas law firms worldwide.
I tend to take a strategic perspective
on employee problems. I take a pragmatic approach to
issues and always strive to be a problem solver.
