Williams
Noted in District Court History
A newly published book tells the story
of Indiana's Southern District Court, beginning in 1787,
and places the role of the court into the wider context
of both Indiana and American history. Titled Federal
Justice in Indiana: The History of the United States
District Court for the Southern District of Indiana,
attorney Brian
Williams is referenced in the book as
the last part-time United States Magistrate to serve
the Evansville division (1986-1988) before the position
was converted to a full-time appointment. The book, by
George W. Geib and Donald B. Kite, Sr., was published
by the Indiana Historical Society Press.
