KDDK legal assistant Gayle Schmidt
spent the Tuesday before Thanksgiving assisting staff
and volunteers at the Evansville Rescue Mission with
the distribution of some 1,700 food baskets to local
families and individuals. It was Gayle’s fourth year
as a volunteer. “Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday
because it’s not about expensive gifts; it’s about families,”
Schmidt said. “I want to help make it a good day for
other people, and I enjoy the opportunity to talk with
them and wish them a happy Thanksgiving.”
