KDDK attorneys Steven M. Theising and Ashley R. Bess today gave approximately 75 local business representatives a “reality check” as deadlines related to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act approach.

Among many key topics addressed were coverage changes, the individual mandate, health insurance exchanges, the employer mandate, and taxes, credits and fees for individuals and employers.

The Kaiser Family Foundation has developed an interactive calculator to help “illustrate health insurance premiums and subsidies for people purchasing insurance on their own in new health insurance exchanges.”

In addition, the  IRS has developed an interactive calculator “to give (employers) an estimate of network liability for a given plan design.” This calculator can be found on the Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight website; and a quick link is on the right-hand side of the page under “Updates.”
