Attorney Notes

Brian Williams was recently elected to the Board of Managers of the IU Alumni Association (IUAA). He will serve as secretary for the 2006-07 term. Williams earned his law degree from IU School of Law - Bloomington and is an IUAA life member.

On October 18 Mike Schopmeyer will speak to attendees of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum’s Environmental Law seminar in Indianapolis.

The Evansville Bar Foundation recently elected officers and board members for the term expiring in 2008. John Hegeman was named treasurer for the Foundation and Brian Williams will serve on the board of directors.

Volunteer attorneys from the Family Law Section of the Evansville Bar Association (EBA) are mentoring other local attorneys who wish to accept pro bono family law cases. KDDK’s Maria Worthington, who helped coordinate the mentoring program, will serve as an EBA family law mentor.

Elizabeth Browning has been elected to a one-year term as secretary for the board of directors of Evansville Dance Theatre, Inc. Browning is beginning her third full year on the board.

Nine KDDK attorneys will serve as faculty members in Evansville on September 26 at a continuing legal education seminar examining real estate development, plat and subdivision law. They are: Mike Schopmeyer, Kent Brasseale, Allison Comstock, Maria Worthington, Amy Steinhart, Monica Edwards, Mike DiRienzo, Elizabeth Browning and Steve Gossman.
