KDDK Attorneys Amy Steinhart
and Beth Browning took part in a program
for potential franchisees on April 18, one of a series
of presentations offered to small business owners and
potential owners by Evansville’s Small Business Development
Center (SBDC). Amy and Beth addressed the topics of choosing
business entities and the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular
- a document required by the FTC that is designed to assist
potential franchisees in making a fully-informed decision
about the franchises they are considering.
Alan and Susan Shovers
were honored on May 5, along with Dr. Larry and Suzy Sims,
for their work as the founders of the Tri-State Multiple
Sclerosis Association, established in 2001. The “Evening
of Excellence” took place at the Casino Aztar Conference
Center with cocktails, dinner and entertainment by Gina
Moore.
The Shovers also will
host a showing of their Steuben Glass art collection at
their home on May 19 to benefit the future Kenneth P.
McCutchan Art Center, an addition planned for the Liberal
Arts Center at University of Southern Indiana. Food by
Just Rennie’s and famous Susan Shovers desserts will be

KDDK partner Jeff Helfrich
is teaching a Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Course
through the Real Estate Certification Program at Ivy Tech.
The nine-week course runs April 17 June 19. Helfrich,
a business attorney, has been an instructor of real estate
courses at Ivy Tech since 1989. His practice includes
real estate, mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance,
business organizations and health care law.
