Arthur Donovan thought that Isidor
Kahn was the most intelligent person he had ever met
- and Arthur had met a lot of very intelligent people.
One day Arthur told Isidor how much he admired his intelligence.
Isidor shook his head and said, “Arthur, I know I’m intelligent,
but that’s not what you admire. What you admire is my
experience. For example, if a bank officer starts dressing
in expensive suits, buys a convertible, takes up with
a girlfriend, goes to the horse races a lot, and generally
lives high, it’s likely embezzlement is involved. Recognizing
that is experience, not intelligence.”
Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn
will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2008. The firm
will mark 100 years in Evansville with a number of activities
and a
book that chronicles KDDK’s rich history and experiences as legal counselors. <<<<<
